-
organising various awareness raising and outreach activities for the Romany and non-Romany parents
-
organising extracurricular activities for the Romany and non-Romany children, in order to raise the inclusion rate and their social competence.
The training of the 72 academic staff from the partner schools has targeted “Active Citizenship. Democracy and Education for an Active Citizenship” and was provided by a team of experts from Romania. During the plenary sessions and the workshops, the teachers acquired the necessary abilities and competences in order to help the students explore the active citizenship as well as face the ambiguities, complexities and the responsibilities that come with being an active member of society. The training was based on presenting and using the active-participative methods of teaching in order to attract and motivate the students to take part in the school activities, experiencing democracy and active citizenship-related knowledge, attitudes and specific behaviour.
The General School Inspector, Mrs. Eugenia-Marcela DărămuÈ™, went on to state that: “The training activity offered support for the teachers so they could, in turn, provide help for the students, helping them experience democracy through the teaching-learning methods of today, which could attract and motivate the students to take part in school activities, in the multicultural environment of an inclusive school, exploring various expressions of the active citizenship.”
