Awareness activities (extracurricular) regarding inclusion organized for Roma and non-Roma students together

       Target Group:

  • Roma and non-Roma students from partner schools

  • Number of Roma students 120 / Number of non-Roma students 120- Total 240 Roma and non-Roma students, 50% of Roma students in total, 60 Roma students - 50% of GT Roma students, 60 Roma students - 50% Roma students from GT Roma students.

​      Description of the activity:

Workshops for intercultural communication (diversity, inclusion, democracy, active citizenship) are extracurricular activities with Roma and non-Roma students (together) in partner schools and aim to develop skills and attitudes through intercultural communication for the inclusion of Roma children. The training of skills and attitudes will be done by organizing 5 intercultural communication workshops in which the 240 students from the target group will participate. The workshops will be organized during 4 days in a different location from the students' domicile, in Arieșeni commune, in Alba county. There will be organized 3 series of workshops, in each series involving students from two schools, respectively 80 students (40 Roma and 40 non-Roma students). The students will be accompanied by the teachers from the school (1 teacher accompanying 10 students). Students will learn and practice, through different games and contests, through methods and techniques that contribute to the formation of critical thinking and communication skills. Knowledge on diversity, inclusion, democracy and active citizenship will be presented. During the 4 days, the following activities will be organized:

 

Day 1 - arrival at the location (5 pm), Workshop 1 - getting to know the participants and the activities in the camp;

Day 2 - Workshop 2- Intercultural communication: diversity + Hiking-survival techniques + Workshop 3-Intercultural communication: inclusion

Day 3 - Workshop 4 - Intercultural communication: democracy + Team building + Workshop 5- Intercultural communication: active citizenship.

Day 4 - Reward of participants, departure (12.00).
